System Bet Calcs

A system bet is a combination bet that covers multiple accumulators from a set of selections. Unlike a standard accumulator where all selections must win, system bets include smaller combinations (doubles, trebles, etc.) so you can still get a return even if one or more selections lose. The trade-off is a higher total stake because you are placing multiple bets.

A full-cover bet includes all possible combination bets from your selections — doubles, trebles, four-folds, and so on up to the accumulator. Examples include Trixie (3 selections), Yankee (4 selections), and Heinz (6 selections). A full-cover with singles also adds a single bet on each selection, giving you a return even if only one selection wins. Examples include Patent (3 selections) and Lucky 15 (4 selections).

A Trixie is a full-cover bet on 3 selections, consisting of 4 bets: 3 doubles and 1 treble. At least 2 of your 3 selections must win for you to get a return. It costs 4 units (e.g. $40 at $10 per unit). The Trixie offers higher potential returns than 3 individual singles but requires at least 2 winners.

A Patent is a full-cover bet with singles on 3 selections, consisting of 7 bets: 3 singles, 3 doubles, and 1 treble. Even if only 1 selection wins, you get a return from the single. It costs 7 units. A Patent gives you more protection than a Trixie because the singles guarantee a return from any winner, but the higher stake means you need good odds to make a profit.

A Yankee is a full-cover bet on 4 selections, consisting of 11 bets: 6 doubles, 4 trebles, and 1 four-fold accumulator. At least 2 selections must win for a return. It costs 11 units. The Yankee is popular because 4 selections generate a good number of combinations, offering substantial payouts when 3 or all 4 selections win.

A Lucky 15 is a full-cover bet with singles on 4 selections, consisting of 15 bets: 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles, and 1 four-fold accumulator. Just 1 winning selection guarantees a return. It costs 15 units. Many bookmakers offer bonuses on Lucky 15 bets — typically a consolation payout if only 1 selection wins and a bonus (often 10-20%) if all 4 win.

A Heinz is a full-cover bet on 6 selections, consisting of 57 bets: 15 doubles, 20 trebles, 15 four-folds, 6 five-folds, and 1 six-fold accumulator. At least 2 selections must win for a return. Named after the famous “57 varieties” slogan, the Heinz generates enormous potential returns if most or all selections win, but the 57-unit stake is significant.

Choose based on your number of selections and risk appetite. For 3 selections: Trixie (no singles) or Patent (with singles). For 4 selections: Yankee (no singles) or Lucky 15 (with singles). For 5 selections: Super Yankee/Canadian (no singles) or Lucky 31 (with singles). For 6 selections: Heinz (no singles) or Lucky 63 (with singles). Versions with singles cost more but guarantee a return from just 1 winner.

A Round Robin is a system bet commonly used in North American sports betting. It divides your selections into groups and creates parlays from those groups. For example, a Round Robin with 3 selections creates three 2-team parlays. Unlike UK full-cover bets, you can choose the parlay size (2-team, 3-team, etc.) for your groups.
